The B Harmer Sofa. Model BHS

Made in a standard length of 2 metres, the sofa can be made in any length to special order. The late Georgian English furniture maker B Harmer, is underestimated and almost unknown even to furniture historians. Harmar produced the magnificent drawing room suite for Powder ham Castle and the well documented dining chairs for William Shepherd (d.1815) of Russell Square, London. Furniture by Harmer was retailed through the better known Marsh and Tatham of Mount Street, London for more B Harmer chairs, see Classic Chair Model E and Model EA dining chairs. The Harmer sofa has the same saber legs with inset reserved and ebonized detail as well as the signature slightly hoofed foot. Upholstered in the best traditional manner with extravagant feather cushion seat, the Classic chair model is extremely comfortable and elegant, and can be used as a sleeping couch. As well as domestic interiors the sofa can be used in projects such as the billiard room, clubs, waiting rooms and Hallways.
