Description
Salak (Salacca zalacca) also known as snake fruit due to the reddish-brown scaly skin. Salak fruit is a type of palm tree (family Arecaceae) native to Indonesia, and also growing in Thailand and Malaysia. and have been introduced into New Guinea, Philippines, Queensland (Australia), Ponape Island (caroline islands), and the island of Fiji. Bali is reputed to grow salaks the best in asia. Skin is thin and strong, and easily peeled.
